Most people you meet will never install identro, and the whole path still works. They point a camera at your QR and your card opens as a fast page in the browser they already have. They save you, and you land in their phone's own contacts. No app to install, no account to make.

A contact that keeps itself right needs the other person on identro too, and it is worth saying plainly. Every product that makes this promise carries the same catch — the difference is where the update arrives: theirs inside their own app, ours in the list your iPhone already reads from.
You both use identro. They have the app and a card of their own.
You save them. A saved connection in the app, not a contact copied down once.
You run the one-time setup. App Settings → Living address book, then add the account in iPhone Settings → Apps → Contacts. Two minutes, on your phone, once.
It costs nothing. The living address book is not a paid feature: the identro people you save keep themselves current on your free cards too.

Six colors — indigo, ocean, forest, sunset, rose, mono — with the layout already settled, so nothing you make looks improvised. The QR is the part you shape: dot style, eye style, color, a monogram or photo at the center, and it stays scannable. Styling it is Pro.

The rest of the category sells hardware: a tap-card tied to your subscription, and often a seat to go with it. identro sells neither. Your tag is an ordinary NTAG213 sticker you own outright, and the link written on it keeps working whether or not you ever pay us — two cards stay live for good. You are paying for software, and only for as long as you want it: a year of Pro costs less than half the cheapest tap-card subscription, which starts around $70.
Payment is charged to your Apple ID. Cancel anytime: your two oldest cards stay live for free, and the others pause until you come back.

What is the one-time setup?+
Two steps, once. In the app: Settings → Living address book → turn on live sync. Then add the account it shows you in iPhone Settings → Apps → Contacts. About two minutes, and it costs nothing on any plan. After that, the identro people you save show up in your Contacts app and keep themselves right.
Is the living address book safe?+
Yes. It uses CardDAV, the same contact-sync standard iPhones already use for work and school accounts. The identro account is read-only and separate: it only adds an “identro” contacts group, it can never see or change your existing contacts, your phone pulls updates over an encrypted connection, and removing the account deletes the synced contacts from your device instantly.
What happens when someone I met changes jobs?+
If they are on identro, you saved them, and you ran the one-time setup on your phone, their row in your iPhone's Contacts app corrects itself: new title, new company, new number. If they are not on identro, the contact you saved is an ordinary contact and stays exactly as you saved it.
